Beginnings At first, the name of Mikki Pyles’ Art Glass Jewelry, Architectural & Decorative Glass Art studio, had no name other than to honor the artistry of her Basque family from Northern Spain by naming the studio Izarra, after her Great grandfather’s home of the sea. Then just kidding around with her family one day, she said in defense of their good natured teasing, “Sticks and stones might break my bones, but glass never will.” Stix n Stonz it was.

Design Philosophy
Because everything in nature is unique upon itself, so is the Art glass that Mikki produces. A collage of mixed media at times, combining metals and other materials found in nature, her glass designs find their place among this world. Her ever growing customer base find serenity in these designs and are attracted to their relation to the elements and their individual design nature. Keeping this in mind, Mikki attempts to get to know her customer or the glass she chooses on any given day in the studio to maintain the individual character of that customers’ design or the art glass used to create these pieces.
